My purpose for this blog has always been to share what a very Personal God we have. How He cares about every single detail of our lives. In His own way He gives us “God Kisses” or “God Winks”, as some of the Mom’s I know refer to His special touch. Such sweet moments when we hear God say, “I see you! I know you needed that!”
This happened recently by what some call a coincidence, or “Co-Inkydink” as my children used to say. Since I don’t believe in coincidences, I lovingly refer to them as “Divine Appointments.”
A few weeks ago, I was trying to explain to my Beautiful Daughter-in-law, who joined our family after Josiah died, who I USED to be. The kind of Mom and Nonnie I WAS compared to now. How do you explain that the person you were before 12/22/15 ceases to exist?
For the last few months I’ve been doing some redecorating, something that I don’t necessarily love to do anymore (see above paragraph), but some changes needed to be made. God had given me some ideas that I wanted to implement. My vision was a wall of “Grandchildren!” I began to gather pictures that I had, but also knew that some of the best ones were within my children’s Facebook Posts. I scrolled and scrolled, screenshotting pictures from birth to now.
But in the midst of looking for something else, I found a Precious Treasure that God knew I needed at that moment.
My oldest daughter came along after 3 rambunctious boys. My calm sweet girl to balance out the fun chaos. The boys had trouble saying her name so they came up with “Nannie.” It stuck and that’s how we lovingly refer to her today. She was then and remains to this day such a Joy to our family. Loves God with all her heart!
At the time of Josiah’s homegoing she had graduated Missionary school, spent time in China, and was prayerfully considering her next assignment, while taking a job as a nanny to fill in the gaps. This Gorgeous selfless girl of mine put her life on hold to fill in MY gaps too. She eventually went back to school when God directed and spent some time in Peru. I’m so proud of her and thank God for her each and every day.
Not Why But What?
In my last post, I talked about my Why’s to God. My precious daughter asks a much wiser question in a heartfelt post she wrote to Josiah one month after he met Jesus. I’m sharing with her permission.

The Christmas Gift she spoke of was tickets to a Hillsong United Concert. What an honor for me to get Josiah’s ticket. We sang Praises to our One and Only King Jesus, wondering what it was like for Josiah to get to do that forevermore.
