I’ve always loved Cardinals. Vibrant red, standing out like royalty among the other birds at the feeder. It wasn’t until Josiah died that I began to learn of their significance to a grieving heart.
Poems are written, Pictures are painted, Crafts are made, and Hearts are eased at the sight of this majestic creature.
The Cardinal is probably the most popular representation of what we believe is an Angel bringing us assurance at just the right time that our loved one is well.
I love the stories of the personal ways in which God will bring comfort to a grieving heart. One may land at your window or linger at the feeder. You may even feel as if it just “knows” you need a touch from an Angel. Each time we see a Cardinal, my Granddaughter Scarlett will look it’s way and say, “Hey Josiah, we miss you!”
